Order Status

Each status is designed to indicate the progress of an order. The different order statuses are:

• Awaiting Authorisation:

The order has been successfully received and payment is being authorised with the appropriate bank. An email will be sent to you once the payment details have been confirmed. Please note that payment is not collected until the order is dispatched.

• Payment authorisation declined:

The order has been successfully received, but the bank has declined or referred the credit/debit card. An email will be sent to you to explain the reasons why this may have occurred.

All of the items in your order have been dispatched.

Some of the items in your order have been dispatched. Please note that you will not be charged extra delivery for items that are dispatched separately, except in cases where you have selected multiple addresses you will be charged per destination.

To view which item or items have been dispatched please track your order using the Parcel Force web site using the dispatch number on your order confirmation e.mail.

1. Orders and Dispatch

Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product. Once you have completed an online purchase, if we are able to accept your order, we will send you an email confirming receipt of your order and the order details. At that point a binding agreement between us will exist. In certain circumstances, as those explained in paragraphs 9 and 10 below, it will be possible for either you or us to cancel the order. Please read those paragraphs for more information.

We will only take payment from you once your order has been dispatched.

Whilst we are under no obligation to accept your order, we would normally do so where (i) the product is available, (ii) the order reflects current pricing and (iii) your credit card/debit card payment is approved by your credit card/debit card company.

Unfortunately we cannot accept orders from persons under the age of 18.

When can I expect my orders to arrive?

All orders received through the web site are processed and, if we accept your order by sending you a confirmatory email, dispatched within 1 working day of us receiving the order. Therefore, depending on the delivery option that you select, your products will usually be with you in just a few days. If you place your order and it is processed before 12 noon Mon-Fri, the goods will be dispatched the same day. Any orders received after 12 noon on Friday will be dispatched the following working day.

Deliveries are made between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). For orders placed at anytime on Saturday or Sunday, the earliest delivery date will be Wednesday.

Any product that is out of stock is displayed as such on the web site and you will not be able to order that product until it is back in stock.

If you wish, you can provide us with an alternative delivery address, just let us know when ordering by filling in the delivery address on the order page.

Please note that a signature is required from an adult aged 18 years or over at the time of delivery for all types of orders.

Why would my contact address be different to my delivery address?

In some instances the products you order will be delivered by courier. If no one will be able to sign for the products at your contact address you may wish to have them sent to an address where someone will be able to accept them during normal business hours (e.g. a work address).

If the products you order are intended for a gift you may wish to have the goods delivered directly to the gift recipient, but have the receipt sent to your own address.

We try to ensure that all product information and pricing displayed on this web site is correct and up to date at the time you place an order. We verify pricing at dispatch, and in the event that we discover an error in the price of the products you have ordered, the following terms will apply:

If actual price is lower than the price shown on this web site at time of ordering we will charge you the lower amount and dispatch the product.

If actual price is higher than the price shown on this web site at time of ordering at our discretion, we will either contact you as soon as possible to discuss whether you wish to continue with the order, or cancel the order and send you an email confirming the cancellation. If we are unable to contact you within 14 days of the placing of the order we will treat the order as cancelled. If the order is cancelled and you have already paid for the products, you will receive a full refund.

All prices shown on the web site are in pounds sterling and inclusive of VAT. For international deliveries, VAT will be deducted from the prices shown once your address details are entered on the order summary page.

Where items are indicated as "Web Only Price" the price of the item is exclusive to purchases on line and not available at the same price in the stop.

Prices exclude delivery charges which are shown as a separate line item on the order summary page. For full details of our delivery charges please refer to the Deliveries section.

The purchase of all products and/or services displayed on this web site are subject to availability. Prices of products may change from time to time. We confirm availability and price at the time your order is placed. If a product is subsequently unavailable when we come to dispatch your order or we are unable to supply the products, we will contact you either by phone or email as soon as possible.

We will contact your payment card company for authorisation when you place your order. Your payment card will then be debited on dispatch of the products.

We accept the following cards for payment: Mastercard, Switch, Solo and Visa.

All debit and credit cards are processed for you by The Toy Shop for a 2.5% handling fee of the value of your purchase.

The balance is paid to The Toy Shop. The total amount you pay is unaffected, regardless of the payment method used.

We take every reasonable care to ensure that your order and subsequent transactions are conducted in a secure environment. If products are not available for any reason after we have accepted your order, we will let you know. We will not charge you for these products and will refund amounts already paid (if any) by way of a credit to your credit card/debit card account.

7. Deliveries (Back to top)

Please note: We advise you to check the description of the product you wish to order, some larger items may take longer than our standard delivery option to arrive, generally these items will be free delivery.

For all mainland UK and Northern Ireland orders placed before 12 noon Mon-Fri, we will attempt to deliver your order within 3 to 5 working days from when you placed the order.

We make every effort to deliver your order within the specified timescale's, however where it is not possible to meet these timescale's due to unforeseen circumstances which are beyond our reasonable control, we will notify you and advise you of an anticipated delivery date. This does not affect your statutory rights.

For all mainland UK orders there is a delivery charge of £4.99. All UK orders over £75 will be delivered free of charge.

It is the same delivery lead time and delivery prices whether you order a product on this web site or over the phone direct from the shop.

Risk of loss and damage of products passes to you on the date when the products are delivered or on the date of first attempted delivery by us, provided that we have processed and received payment in full for the products.

8. Delivery Address (Back to top)

All deliveries will be made to you at the address specified by you in the order. We may, at our discretion and expense (if there is any additional expense over the cost of delivering the order all at one time), deliver parts of your order separately. If we cannot deliver the products to you at the address you have specified for any reason, we will notify you and store the products. If you wish us to redeliver the products to you, you will need to authorise us to charge your credit card/debit card for such re-delivery. If we do not hear from you within 28 days, we will cancel the order and refund your payment to you less any reasonable delivery charges we have incurred.

A signature from an adult aged 18 years or over will be required to receive the order. Ownership of the products shall pass to you once the products have been delivered to you and we have received payment in full in cleared funds.

If you decide to have your order delivered to a different address than your own, a signature will still be required and the general conditions of delivery will remain unchanged.

We can deliver your order to almost any international destination. The delivery charge for your order will be shown on the delivery details page, based on the total weight and volume of the order and your delivery address.

Please note: It is a legal requirement that we declare the full value of the goods on all packages destined outside the European Union, and shipments may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; unfortunately we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Returning goods on which duty has been paid If you have paid import duty for goods received, and subsequently return the goods to us, it should be possible for you to claim a refund of duties from your local Customs authority. To do this, you will need to show them proof of duty paid and proof of export (e.g. certificate of posting) when claiming your refund.

Your gifts can be delivered in beautifully presented gift boxes or wrapped for just £2.50 per item. We can include a gift card for your personal message. Please telephone the shop if this service is required.

Please note: Gift wrap is not available on all items, (extra large items such as rocking horses and sit and ride vehicles are excluded).

The last order date for guaranteed Christmas delivery will be Monday 19th December for UK mainland orders only. For all other destinations our deadline for Christmas delivery is Monday 12th December.

We will provide a full refund or exchange should you receive a faulty product or be unsatisfied with a product received on the following conditions:

If any product in your order proves to be faulty, please return it to The Toy Shop with a copy of the delivery note and call or email The Toy Shop to obtain a returns number and also indicate whether you would like to receive a refund (including delivery costs), an exchange or a replacement. If you choose a replacement, we will meet your costs of returning to us any replacement product that is still unsatisfactory to you. Our promise to replace the product or refund your money does not apply to faults or damage caused by wear and tear, or accident, neglect or misuse.

If you change your mind on any non-defective product you may return it to The Toy Shop, unopened and in perfect condition, within 28 days of receipt of your delivery. Certain exclusions apply so please read the paragraph below. Please contact The Toy Shop to obtain a returns number, include the reason the product has been returned and indicate whether you would like to receive a refund (excluding your original delivery charge) or an exchange.

If you want to return a gift, we can offer a refund to the payment card originally used for the purchase.

Except in relation to faulty or incorrectly supplied products, where your statutory rights are unaffected, personalised products made to your specifications may not be returned. When your product is a specially ordered large item, we do not keep stock of this product and we will raise an order through a supplier direct to you. In such cases you may not be entitled to a refund, however, if you experience problems with your products or order then please contact The Toy Shop for assistance.

For further details on returning your purchase to The Toy Shop, by post or arranging for collection of products by us, please contact the shop to obtain a returns number which will ensure that we can track all parts of the returns process.

15. Cancellations (Back to top)

If we are unable to deliver your order within our standard delivery timescale's as explained in paragraph 12 below, you are entitled to cancel your order with no charge. As we do not take payment for online purchases from your credit/debit card until your order is dispatched, you will not have been charged for the order.

This also applies to individual products within a larger order, where some products have been delivered but others are not available. In this instance, you are entitled to cancel the whole order with no charge or cancel the order just for the parts not delivered. You will not have been charged for the non-delivered products.

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have the right to cancel your order with us at any time within 7 days of receiving your products for a full refund. Should you wish to cancel the contract within those 7 days, we will then refund you the price you have paid for the products. This will not include the cost of delivery or other services provided to you in connection with your purchase, if you have cancelled after your order has been dispatched or the costs you subsequently incur on returning the products to us, unless you return the product(s) to us because of an error on our part or because it is faulty. Your statutory rights are not affected. You are under a duty to take reasonable care of the products, which means the products must be unused and in their original packaging and condition. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery of your items should you wish to cancel your order.

You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for the purchase, within 3 weeks of our receiving your notification that you wish to cancel the order.

16. Lost Packages (Back to top)

Even though packages are sent via Parcel Force, on rare occasions we do experience losses whilst in transit. If this occurs please allow 10 days for the package to arrive from the date of dispatch. If this time elapses and the products do not arrive, please contact the shop and our staff will be happy to assist in tracing your parcel or sending a replacement. Please be aware that if you do not contact us within 30 days in relation to a lost package, an insurance claim cannot be made and thus you will be unable to claim any loss from The Toy Shop and you will not be entitled to any refunds.

If we send you a replacement and the original products are also delivered to you, you must return the original products to us within 30 days. We reserve the right to charge the price of the replacement item to the payment card used for the original order if you do not return the original item to us within 30 days of the date on which we confirm we will issue a replacement.
